Ryan Lochte

My favorite Olympic swimmer is Ryan Lochte, he  holds records in the 200 IM and the 400 IM. Lochte specializes in the backstroke and IM, and also swims freestyle. He can swim very fast under water. Lochte will be swimming in the 2012 Olympics against his biggest competitor Michael Phelps.

The places I swim

I swim for three different teams. In the fall I swim for the RMHS high school team. I have been on the team since freshman year and have had many memories with them. All year round I swim for the Andover YMCA team, it is a club team that I have been on since I was in third grade. Last I swim for the Nantucket swim team in the summer.
RMHS girls swim team last year after we won the state swim meet.

My favorite stroke

Me swimming the butterfly

My favorite stroke to swim is the butterfly. It is a stroke that is really hard to master, many people dread swimming this stroke but it is my favorite. During the butterfly you have to swing your arms in a circular motion. (shown above) Also when you are swimming you have to keep your feet together like a dolphin tale. Whenever you come to a wall you have to touch with two hands or else you will get disqualified. Although it seems like a lot to remember the butterfly is the best stroke to swim.

Here is a picture showing the motions of the butterfly.
